Is This About Health Hazard or Threat of Market Loss?

The big news on Glyconutritionals is that Texas Attorney Greg Abbott has filed a lawsuit to stop a company that he says markets nutritional supplements as being able to cure certain diseases, including cancer. The lawsuit accuses related parties of operating "an elaborate scheme designed to promote the sales of Mannatech's dietary supplements."

Documents filed in Travis County District Court allege Mannatech's "deceptive practices" pose a health risk to seriously ill consumers who may forgo medical attention because of the company's claims.

Is this political? Does it have anything to do with an emerging market (Wellness) that will systematically narrow the sickness business for the pharma giants? The case above demonstrates the position the pharmaceuticals have established for themselves in anything to do with health. Preventive nutrition and natural remedies to help the body ward off illness have been around since the beginning of time, as use of these regimens are becoming more and more common. Yet, it is the pharmaceutical drugs that have become one of the leading causes of death and injury, NOT nutritional supplements. Do you think its time for a change? It has already started.

Welcome to the beginning of The Wellness Revolution! Vive Le Revolucion!
